Ruby Merle Andrews née Henry was born to Arthur and Melba Henry, November
16th, 1933 in Henderson, Texas. Ruby was seven of thirteen children born to this
union. She made her journey peacefully after a long and happy life on a beautiful
summer day, June 26 th , 2021 in Glendale, California.

Soft spoken and petite this sweet child was swept away by her cousin Anna Mae
Grace who helped nurture Ruby’s gift. Enrolled in the Arizona school system Ruby
excelled. She was a brilliant student who was always involved in outside
activities. When Sweet Ruby graduated Carver High School…it was with Honors
and she was Queen of “Mask of the Yellow Moon Ball”.

Meharry Medical College where she majored in Nursing until she married Bob
Tate with the announcement of her first child McFelix who preceded her in death.
They moved to California and were blessed with two more children Rene and
Andre, sadly that marriage would end.

After a few years Ruby met, fell in love, and married Emile Lewis. They had a
beautiful son named Eric and Ruby finally found great happiness surrounded by
lots of family and friends added to her new life in Pasadena, California.
When this marriage ended, Ruby returned to school while raising her three
children. She loved learning and she went on to complete her education receiving
a Master of Divinity Degree from Fuller Seminary College. She worked in Nursing,
Teaching and Ministered to all she met.

Along the way she met and married Alonzo Andrews who would become her
dedicated and loving husband for 30 years until his death in 2004. Ruby's loving
and spiritual life led her to be baptized a second time at First Church of the
Nazarene of Pasadena, California. Ruby was a dedicated member of the Lake Ave
Church. She was a very active member in her church, serving in many capacities,
most notably as 6 th Grade Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of the
church choir and she loved the Lord and served him until she left this life.

Anyone who knew Ruby would immediately be drawn to her kind and caring
spirit. She delighted in helping children, adored her family, her dogs Mitch &
